Ernst Schweizer AG sells its facades division to Geilinger AG and will concentrate on the product and supplier business in the future

Hedingen, 25 Sept. 2023 – Ernst Schweizer AG will focus on its fast-growing product and supplier business in the future and sell its facades division to Geilinger AG as of 1 January 2024. In return, Schweizer will become a minority shareholder in Geilinger. The continuity of the facades division is thus ensured for Schweizer’s customers.

With the sale of the Facades Division, the traditional Schweizer company is now active in the market in four divisions with innovative product solutions, namely as a system provider for wood/metal windows and folding and sliding walls, as a market leader in letterboxes and parcel boxes, and as a strongly growing provider of solar systems in Europe. With these four business units and more than 450 committed employees, Ernst Schweizer AG and its subsidiaries will continue on their course of growth and innovation.

“This is an important step in the history of our company: the project business, which is extremely complex in terms of processes and procedures, will find a new home with Geilinger, thus ensuring continuity for customers and employees,” explains Samuel Schweizer, CEO of Ernst Schweizer AG.

From 1 January 2024, Geilinger will continue to run the façade business at Schweizer’s current location in Hedingen as a branch office with the areas of sales, technology, installation and façade service, and will take over around 40 Schweizer employees. Production of the façades will now take place at Geilinger’s Winterthur plant. The current façade projects can thus be completed in the quality that customers have come to expect from Schweizer.

Schweizer and Geilinger have known each other for a long time: from the 1970s until the turn of the millennium, they cooperated in the field of civil defence components, and more recently they have successfully realised renowned façade projects together, such as the Superblock administration building in Winterthur or the Puls 5 building complex in Zurich.
The purchase contract has already been signed. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The closing will take place on 1 January 2024. Current façade offers will be processed by Geilinger from 1 October 2023.
